Real Experience.

I have many years of civic and organizational leadership. My approach to governance has centered on clear communication, collaborative decision making, and principled oversight. Serving five years on the Washington Zoning Board of Appeals including as Chairman I directed proceedings balancing local municipal codes with community development needs. My commitment to governance excellence has been strengthened through active membership in the Michigan Association of Planning (MAP) and completion of numerous specialized workshops on land use law, procedural standards, and practical difficulty criteria. This training grounded my leadership in legal precision, enabling me to facilitate productive board discussions, evaluate complex variance requests, and articulate defensible, fair decisions that respected property rights while upholding public trust.

In line with my municipal tenure I have Commander at the Romeo VFW Post 2052 for the past 5 years. Leading a veteran service organization requires active listening, building consensus among diverse viewpoints, and steering every initiative with transparency. Across both roles, I demonstrated a strong ability to express well-reasoned positions while actively inviting input from board colleagues, public officials, and community members. Whether navigating state planning standards or directing non-profit operations, my board experience reflects a deep respect for shared governance, fiduciary responsibility, and the decisive judgment required to achieve sound organizational outcomes.
