Hi Romeo! My name is Josie Docherty and I’m running for the Romeo Community Schools Board of Education in the November 2026 election. About me... My husband and I have been together for nearly 30 years. We are proud parents to two very active boys, ages 12 and 14. Like so many families in our district, our weeks are filled with sports and community events, giving me the epic title of Bulldog mom!

I have successfully built and managed a business allowing me to bring strong leadership, practical fiscal responsibility, and real-world problem-solving to the table. My experience in a classroom as a room mom parent, volunteer, aide, and teaching, gives me direct insight into daily classroom dynamics including challenges and opportunities. This firsthand experience fuels my commitment to effectively advocate for the teachers, empower staff, and support the students.

I have lived in the Romeo area for 20 years. I’m proud to be a part of the Romeo district because of its exceptional reputation and the welcoming, close-knit atmosphere that defines our city. Over the past 20 years, my appreciation for this community has only grown, driving my passion to ensure our schools continue to deliver excellence for every student.

I’m running for the Romeo School Board because I want to ensure every student receives a strong academic foundation for the future through practical solutions, parental partnership, and transparent leadership. I hope to earn your support and your vote on November 3th.
